Tres Rios RV Resort, Glen Rose, Texas

Located in historic Glen Rose, TexasTres Rios RV Park is a part of the Ocean Canyon resort system. Tres Rios is our favorite park and we come back here every winter. There is a group of us who also come back to Tres every winter and we all spend a few months together playing cards, billiards, having pot luck dinners, and enjoying each other's company.

Office

They have many pull through and back in sites & can access big rigs along with tents. They have a few full time residents. The restrooms are old but clean. They have 30amp and 50amp sites, and all are full hookups. They have WiFi, but no cable. There is a swimming pool, concert and music pavilion, horseshoes, Volley ball, playground, and a wonderful walking trail along the river. The resort has 50 years of history as a YMCA summer camp.

There are three rivers that come together - the Brazos, Paluxy, and Squaw Creek, with a walking trail that follows along the Brazos and Squaw Creek. I love the walk along the river - that is my daily walk both morning and evening, and I let Lucy to get her daily exercise as well. I did a blog on the river on when it was high and very low, which you can access here.

They also have a recreation hall with pool tables, TV watching area, small kitchen. and card games. There is a children's rec hall with daily activities. The sites are level and in good condition. The roads are all paved and in good condition.

Pool

The swimming pool was constructed in 1919. It was excavated with the earth moving equipment of that era and a team of mules for the Dallas YWCA chapter camp. The original construction of this pool remains today and at one time it was fed completely by natural spring water. It is said to be the oldest pool constructed for the purpose of a camp in the S.W. United States.

Lone Star Lodge

Texas Lodge is open to all ages with a TV area and tables and chairs. The kitchen is located in Texas Lodge and is where breakfast is cooked for the guests on Saturday and Sunday mornings during the summer. We also have bingo, line dancing and potluck dinners in the Lodge.

Texas Hall

Texas Hall is the adult center with tables for games, two billiard tables, darts, and couches and TV center. We have a full size billiard table courtesy of one of our members whose husband passed away in January 2022.  He was an avid pool player and always wanted Tres Rios to have a full size billiard table. After he passed, she decided to fulfil his wishes and donated the billiard table to Tres Rios. It's really nice and our members work hard at keeping it clean.

There is a huge pavilion with a stage for bands, a movie screen, a large area for dancing and some picnic tables around the perimeter.

Side of Pavilion

The side of the Pavilion used to have this wonderful picture, however, since much of the wood was rotted, it was replaced and is now just a blank brown wall. Sure am glad I was able to get this picture before it was removed.

Stage at Pavilion

We used to have a small dog park but it was not enough for all the big dogs that come to Tres Rios. A new, larger dog park was put in so they can run and play. And as usual, please pick up after your dog. We should all know that is without question, but we still find many who do not pick up after their pets.

The next few pictures are of the trails that border the Brazos River and Squaw Creek. This is one of my favorites, which is the trail along the Brazos River heading south from the east end.

Glen Rose, Texas is known for its dinosaur museum and fossil grounds. The City is known for its special events and local area events such as the annual music festival, blue bonnet festival and regularly scheduled arts, crafts, and antique shows.
The historic section of Glen Rose has a few restaurants and little shops.

Granbury is the closest large city with a Walmart, Kroger, HEB, Home Depot, Lowes, Walgreens, CVS, and many restaurants and other small stores.
