On December 26, 2010 we drove up to Barb Mars’ house. We got there about
5:30pm after waiting for the weather to get better. Atlanta had a snow/ice
storm with freezing temps and accidents even on the interstates. Pulled into
Weaverville in a snow blizzard and a foot of snow. I stopped at the shopping
center at the end of her street; Jim locked the wheels into 4 wheel drive and
drove the rest of the way down Dula Springs Road in 4-wheel drive. Lots of snow
– trailer would never have made it.

Grayton Beach State Park, Florida
Jim and I went to Grayton Beach State Park in the panhandle of Florida from New Years Eve until Tuesday, January 5, 2010. What a beautiful park - very typical of the state parks in Florida that we have stayed at. The sites are private with palmetto and trees in between the sites, giving one lots of privacy. This park has trails cut through the center to each site so you can get to the facilities fairly easily. They have an old section and a new section but the new section does not have the privacy like the old section. Jim had an awful time backing in to the site we reserved (23) -- it was on a curve and there were trees across the road that partially blocked him from backing in. I had to ask the people across from us to move their truck so Jim could pull into their site just to have enough room to back into ours. He was about to give up when a couple of other campers came and helped him back in.
