Stone Mountain House; Visit with Janice Strang

On Saturday, May 16, 2015, we drove down to our house in Stone Mountain to look at it and make sure everything was still OK with it.  Leon met us there and we all walked around the property.  Evidently the grass and bushes had grown up a lot and Leon mowed and trimmed the bushes all around the property.  One shock was that someone chopped down one of our trees in the back yard.  Leon said the leaves were still green when he was there earlier, so it had just happened within the past week.  Not happy about that, but nothing we can do about now.  We also discovered that someone broke in and stole the safe that we had concreted into the floor underneath the basement steps.

While there we met with the realtor who told us we had a cash offer on the house, which we decided to take.  We are really happy that we will not have to worry about the house anymore.  With it being empty and the neighborhood, chances of it being vandalized were high.  Our closing is May 29 - then we will be really free.  Hooray!

We enjoyed living in our house for the 27 years we were there. We had a beautiful back yard where we had a fire pit and lots of parties. We also had a deck with a roof where we were able to sit out in the rain and enjoy the pitter patter of the rain on the galvanized roof. I also had a couple of hummingbird feeders out every summer and always had lots of hummers feeding on their travels.

I also had a bird feeder out and always had lots of cardinals, chickadees, tufted titmice, wrens, etc.

On our way out, we stopped to visit an old friend of ours and Jacklyn's - Dr. Janice Strang.  Not only was she our chiropractor for a long time, but a friend as well.  We had a great visit and were able to catch up on what was going on with each of us.  She had not been keeping up with my blog, so I sent her a link, and now hopefully she will now follow us as we go on our adventures.  Hope to see her again in the future.
