Frances Kerch - Laid to Rest

On May 12, 2015, Frances Kerch (Jim's Mom) passed away.  She appeared to be in good condition on Mother's Day.  Jack went to visit her, and she also talked with Jim, Jacklyn, and other people. On Tuesday morning she fell in the bathroom.  Jack found her there and helped her back into her chair and said he would come back later that afternoon to check on her.  The staff brought her lunch and a friend of hers stopped by during lunch only to find her in an unresponsive state.  The staff came and discovered that she had passed away.

In early March, Josh, Karen, Ellie & Jason traveled to Atlanta where they participated in a Mud Run.  While there they stayed with Jack & Tam'ra for a couple of days. We were all very glad that she got to meet her great-grandchildren.  Here is a picture of Mom & Jason.  I was told that as soon as he walked into the house, he went straight to her and climbed into her lap.  Here they are gazing into each other's eyes - they made a connection.

We were still working at Lone Star Jellystone at the time she passed away, and we left the trailer there and drove the Excursion straight to Atlanta and stayed in a hotel for the week before heading back to Waller, Texas, and back to work.

Here are more pictures of Mom and Dad as we remember them. Jim's Dad passed away in 1985, and Jim's mom never remarried.

The viewing was Thursday and Friday, May 14-15, 2015 - closed casket.  Here are pictures of her when she was younger and a few others of her family.  On Monday, May 18, 2015 we drove 3 hours south to Andersonville National Historic Cemetery in Andersonville, GA where she was laid to rest with Jim's Dad, who was already buried there.  A local pastor came to say a few words and bless the ceremony.

We took some more pictures of the family while at the funeral home.  Families get together during weddings, funerals and planned family reunions. Unfortunately this get together was a funeral, but it was really good to have all of us together.
