Our First RV Trip, Tallulah Gorge & Barb's House

We took our first real trip in the RV the last week of December 2003. Bill & Julie Mars came to Atlanta on December 27 with their Airstream and on Sunday we all left for Tallulah Gorge in the north Georgia mountains and spent the night. 

We walked the 1200 steps down to the Falls and I almost fell in. Those rocks get really slippery when wet! Lisa grabbed me before I went in and then a man from another family grabbed me and pulled me up the rest of the way. What excitement!

On Monday we were on our way to Asheville, NC and spent the week in Barb Mars' backyard. Josh followed us up and then left Tuesday morning back to Atlanta for a concert and parties. We went on a few walks around the area. The day went fast since we got up late, ate breakfast late and just generally hung around. We met with Bob Baskin one day while everyone else went into town to see a movie. New Years Eve we had a bond fire and cooked "junk in a foil" for dinner -- delicious!

Tried to take a walk up to the "Bald" on Thursday but on the way up a pit bull attacked Pursie and bit her on the leg; then Spencer attacked the dog and they really got into it. The pit bull had Spencer by the throat and Bill was kicking the pit bull and stomping on his throat trying to get Spencer loose. Finally, the pit bull let loose and one of Daniel's friends took Spencer back home. So then we took Pursie home to administer to her wound and did not finish our walk. She could not walk good and we did not want to leave her at the trailer.

Pursie did not take to being left in the trailer by herself; Gypsy was OK but Pursie tore out the screen and then started chewing the rug in front of the door. What are we going to do with her!

Had a great time and cannot wait to get on the road full-timing!
